Canada’s official new-vehicle energy ratings live in Natural Resources Canada’s Fuel Consumption Guide. The machine-readable tables are on Open Government: gasoline and diesel, hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and battery-electric vehicles.
AutoSpend treats each model year + make + NRCan model name once. Extra engine and trim lines in the CSV are not extra rows on By year or Charts. Rank 1 is the unique name with the lowest combined energy use (litres per 100 km, or litres-equivalent for electrified models).
Tailpipe CO₂ is grams per kilometre. Battery-electric models are 0 g/km at the tailpipe. Q&A reports medians among unique models, including a gasoline-only split that matches “Best gasoline” on By year (hybrids and diesel left out).
